Typer always comes with the best compact model as and when they evolve (currently Qwen 3.5). The compact model allows you to chat right away. Then Typer automatically downloads a smarter AI matched to your Mac’s memory.

The bigger memory on your Mac, the smarter it gets. Typer handles all of this for you when you open the app.

The size of Typer is about 500 MB. Small enough to be ready in a couple of minutes and you can start chatting right away.

In the background, Typer downloads a smarter AI tailored to your Mac. That usually takes 3 to 4 minutes, and you can keep chatting the whole time. Higher-spec Macs get a larger model, so it may take a bit longer.

Typer is Mac-only right now. It’s built for Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later). That’s any Mac from the last few years.

Most models in Typer can see. You can drag a photo into the chat and ask what’s in it. Ask for a description of a screenshot, ask it to read your handwriting or get it to explain a chart.
